Religious Education

Year 10

Prendiville Catholic College follows guidelines for Religious Education provided by Catholic Education Western Australia. Catholic curriculum and Religious Education are guided by the Bishops of Western Australia. The aim of Religious Education is that students know and understand the Gospel and can bring this to life in the College and into the wider world. It is part of the mission of the Church to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. Religious Education complements experiences such as retreats, liturgies and prayer as well as activities in service learning. Ideally, it helps students understand such experiences as part of Christian life and encountering what is sacred in our faith.

Topics in Year 10 Religious Education are:

  • Vocation – Called to be and become
  • The search for freedom
  • The Holy Spirit’s action through conscience and the Church
  • Restoring God’s justice in the world

A prerequisite from Year 10 Religious Education exists for entry to study Year 11 ATAR Religion and Life.
