Catherine McAuley
Catherine McAuley (1778-1841) was born in Dublin, Ireland and founded the Sisters of Mercy to educate the poor, visit the sick and serve people in need.
She had a close connection with the development of education in Western Australia for European and Aboriginal children and with the provision of services for the needy.
