Photography

Year 9

The course introduces photography to those who have not yet experienced this medium. Students will get to use a wide variety of equipment including DSLR cameras, lenses, filters, tripods, lighting, and image manipulation software using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. Participants will learn about the technical aspects of photography including framing, shot composition, codes and conventions and will have opportunities to explore local places of interest to enhance their experience. Students will be involved in practical projects which are focused on producing work that expresses their creativity; including close-up macro photography, exploring shutter speed, and pet photography.

Please note: Students are not expected to purchase equipment other than an SD memory card. School cameras are available for the students to use during class time.

Year 9 Photography leads to Photography and Media in Year 10.
