The Music Performance and Technology course is a performance-based course for those students who have studied the General Music stream and wish to develop further contemporary instrumental and/or vocal skills.
In this course, students will continue the development of performance skills through various performance opportunities and workshops. This course makes prime use of our industry-standard music facilities, recording studio and Performing Arts Centre, and provides all students with a chance to learn or further develop their musical skills in an exciting and vibrant environment.
This innovative course covers a range of topics including song-writing, electronic composition, an introduction to studio recording, live audio production, digital audio workstations and live band performance. Students will be offered a number of opportunities to perform in events that link with the curricular content of each course such as the Catholic Performing Arts Festival and lunchtime concerts.
Prerequisite: The study of Year 8 PTech or PSM is an advantage but not essential.
Pathway: This course leads to Year 10 Music Performance and Technology.
