The Year 8 Specialised Dance course is an extension stream of the Dance program at Prendiville aimed at students who have gained dance experience outside of school and are wanting to pursue Dance as a subject in middle/upper school. This class is tailored to more advanced students, with greater emphasis placed on the development of technique, and a focus on the genres of jazz and hip hop.

Throughout the year, students will engage in a variety of practical and written tasks, which will enhance their dance skills and choreographic skills. Students are given opportunities to choreograph dances using the elements of dance and present dance to an audience, further developing their performance skills of retention and clarity of movement, projection, focus and expression. All students will be required to perform in the annual Prendiville Dance Showcase.
