Step into the creative world of Year 8 Media Arts – where your phone becomes a powerful tool for storytelling, and your imagination takes centre stage!
This exciting, year-long course invites students to explore the dynamic world of mobile photography, filmmaking, and stop-motion animation through hands-on, practical learning experiences.
Semester 1: Mobile Photography
Students learn the art of composition, lighting, and perspective, using everyday environments as their canvas. With excursions to parks, beaches, and urban landscapes, students develop a curated photo portfolio that showcases their growing eye for detail and storytelling.
Semester 2: Filmmaking & Animation
Lights, camera, action! Students dive into the world of mobile filmmaking and stop-motion animation. They write, direct, shoot, and edit their own short films – from a Western shootout scene to creative animations built from scratch. The year concludes with a final film project, bringing together all their newly mastered skills.
