By March 24, 2021March 26th, 2021News

It was special for our whole College to come together to celebrate Prendiville Day on Friday, 19th March 2021. We all came together to celebrate our FAITH, IDENTITY and COMMUNITY and shared the following reflection of the day:

Prendiville Day 2021 ~ A Celebration of 35 Years
I am Prendiville. You are Prendiville. AND TOGETHER, WE are Prendiville.

In October 2020, the Most Rev Donald Sproxton, Auxillary Bishop of Perth, spoke to a Perth audience on the topic of Mental Health in Australia. In his address, Bishop Sproxton shared an understanding of the word “Community”:

“When people band together to achieve a goal, there is great potential and creativity, and often a far better outcome eventuates than if one person alone were to drive the action.

The experience in collaborating can be enriching personally, as well as being a positive, creative force for good.

That band of people are already part of a wider community that values respect for the individual and the widening of opportunities for everyone in society.”

Prendiville Day 2021 epitomised exactly that – The collaboration of members within our College Community generating a positive, creative force for GOOD. A special 35 Year Celebration which captured the essence of our Faith, Identity and AMAZING Community!

Our Eucharistic Celebration reminded us that ‘We are one body, one body in Christ; and we do not stand alone.’ ~ Together, WE are Prendiville!

Fr Francis highlighted the abundant, fresh and green pastures that we have at our College, founded by Archbishop Redmond Prendiville, and the restful waters that we provide for our students as their Shepherd’s. May we always be reminded to keep love for one another and make it central to all we do at Prendiville as we protect and nurture our flock for many more years to come.

In the afternoon our amazing Parents of Prendiville once again organised and conducted a special afternoon of fun activities for all students and staff. Three hours of Royal Show style fun rides, games, dancing and food all on site was an exciting way to conclude a very special 35th year Prendiville Day celebration.

Our students were dismissed from school very excited, tired and happy.
