A special event was held Thursday 5 August during lunchtime in Prendiville Catholic Colleges, Manjaree Place. Siahn, a member of the Yirri Yaarkin Club, raised the idea of further Torres Strait Island representation on campus, and our cohort in Yirri Yaarkin were excited by the opportunity!
Joined by friends of the College: Madalah, students gathered, sampled some food from the land prepared by Outdoor Education, and heard a short speech from Melissa, a Torres Strait Islander Woman, before raising the Torres Straight Island flag outside of the College Administration. Prendiville is now looking even more colourful!
