McAuley Day of Service

By November 18, 2021News

On Thursday 11th November, we remembered those who have served our country and remembered our patron Saint Catherine McAuley on our McAuley Day of Service.

We started the day with a Mass and joined together for a House Assembly. We were blessed to have Student Council members conduct our Mass readings and assembly.

Thank. you to Year 11 House Captains, Chelsea and Daniel, who were on study leave but chose to come into the College to lead our House, open our assembly and close our mass.  They are a wonderful example of selfless leadership and the College is grateful for their willingness to serve McAuley students on their week off.

House Council’s act of service would be to fundraise by sell drinks and donuts during recess and lunch. The stall was run by our year 8-10 Student Council members.

Our fundraising efforts raised $514.30 which we were so pleased to donate to Soul Gestures who do amazing work in our local community, performing acts of kindness and helping to support and serve those in need.

May we always strive to be kind and of service to others, just like Catherine McAuley.
