The Interhouse Athletics Carnival was held in Week 2 (29th – 30th April). After the lockdown of the previous weekend, we were blessed with amazing weather on both days and the level of participation and attendance was very impressive. This is a credit to the work of the House Leaders who played a big part in the lead up to the carnival and on the day, and to all the students present.
In the tabloid format, students were given the opportunity to participate in an unlimited number of events, in a bid to maximise participation in every year group. Students excelled on both days, demonstrating a high level of athletic prowess across the day of events. The carnival concluded on both days with the relays and it was fantastic to see the students from all houses cheering on their relay runners as they ran past.
This year’s results saw Brigid House take out the 2021 Interhouse Athletics Carnival Champion trophy. They were very strong throughout both days and led the scoreboard for the majority of the days. Well done to Mr Baddock and Brigid House! The Golden Bear Winner will be announced at the next whole school assembly.
A big thank you to the many staff, parents (Denny Piovesan and Amanda Mulligan) and Prendiville alumni who assisted with various roles throughout the event (Sarah Bevan, Mia Scroop, Jacob Oskam, Charlie Klemm, Taylor McEvoy, and Tameisha Milentis).
Events such as the Interhouse Athletics Carnival would not happen or run the way it did without the support of the College community. Thanks to everyone involved!
