This year the Brigid House Council have endorsed the Conservation Council of WA’s – Clean State Jobs Plan. As part of their mission, to live the values of St Brigid, the House Councillors have shown compassion for their community and the environment by being engaged in local matters.
Earlier this year Brigid House students participated in an activity. The wrote letters to their local Member for Parliament, Emily Hamilton MLA. As a result of this activity and the efforts of the Clean State team we now have a Minister for Climate Action in WA – The Hon. Amber-Jade Sanderson.
Last Friday at the College, our students met with Ms Hamilton to learn about the electorate of Joondalup and speak with her about matters that are important to young people. It was so awesome to see students engaged and asking great questions.
The Brigid House Council look forward to continuing their work in this space next year.
