On Wednesday, 2nd November, a group of year 7 students and their teachers from St John Bosco College made the long drive from Piara Waters to work with our FlexEd students to create a large glass cross to be displayed at their College. The cross that they made was designed by Mrs Vroombout following consultation with the College and features a series of small crosses in the John Bosco colours interlinked to show the connectedness of their College.
It was a great day for the FlexEd students, teaching the Y7 students how to make glass crosses and making sure they followed safety rules. The St John Bosco students enjoyed making many glass crosses for themselves and the Prendiville gallery, not to mention the giant glass cross that would be filled with 10cm crosses with lots of colour.
Micaela and Coen took the students on tours around the school including to the chapel, the sunken garden, administration and the sport gym. One highlight of the day was the pizza lunch where we got to know the younger students better which was, of course something we always enjoy doing. Everyone agrees that the connections we make with other schools and the sharing of our skills and talents are one of the reasons we all value the FlexEd programme so much.
