The theme for Romero House is ‘celebrating excellence within’, as staff and student alike sought to build on the successes of last year so that we can “aspire not to have more, but to be more” (St Oscar Romero).
Bishop Oscar Romero
Oscar Romero was born in El Salvador (1917) and was ordained into the priesthood in 1942. He became a Bishop in 1970 and went into become the Archbishop of San Salvador in 1977. He was a man of devout faith, humility and confidence and was a humble pillar of strength amidst the poverty and injustice of a country ruled by violence.
A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart.
