During the school holidays, our Year 10 Music students met Mr Hislop & Ms Duce at St George’s Cathedral to learn about keyboard instruments from the Baroque period of music, including the chamber organ, harpsichord, and pipe organ.
Students were given the opportunity to play these special instruments and to learn the musical context of these instruments. Dr Joseph Nolan was our host and performed works by JS Bach for our students. Dr Nolan is an internationally renowned recording and performing artist here in Australia and overseas, so this was a wonderful musical opportunity for our students.
