Prendiville Winter Sporting Triumphs

By June 29, 2021News

Winter CAS Finals and Results

Congratulations to all Winter CAS teams for the outstanding effort and commitment this season. Students have again shown fantastic sportsmanship throughout the season, with other schools commenting on how nice it is to verse Prendiville teams. Parents, coaches and students have highlighted the benefits of the CAS competition for our students and the opportunities it provides to develop new friendships, experiencing healthy competition, coping with winning and losing and developing a sense of membership within the College.

Prendiville finished the winter season with two premiership flags from the Year 7A Netball team and the Senior Boys AFL, and another six teams qualified to play in the Grand Finals. Both the Senior Girls and Senior Boys Soccer were due to play in the grand finals this week but were cancelled due to the lockdown.

The finishing places for all of the teams are as follows:

Rugby Sevens Night Competition

Prendiville recently participated in a Rugby sevens night competition. This was a pre-season tournament before the Northern Schools Rugby Championship next term. Prendiville entered a year 7/8, 9/10 & 11/12 teams that played a number of games throughout the night. Well done to the Year 9/10 team for making it all the way through to the grand final before losing a very close game to Quinns Baptist College.

Thank you to Ms Leigh Barber, Miss Sarah Fogliani and Mr Jason Todd who all gave up their Friday night and supervised the students. Ex-student Antonio Tasselli (2020) did an outstanding job coaching all the teams, along with the current school rugby leader Hadyn Allsop.
