FLEXed Graduation

The FLEXed Graduating students received their certificates of Graduation at a special exhibition evening held on Thursday. The evening was opened by a moving Welcome to Country by Aboriginal Elder Marie Taylor and the evening was launched by the Gallery Patron Mrs Genevieve Baker from CEWA. The evening was attended by a large number of parents and grandparents of the students.

Reflecting back over the four years when we took the first steps with this program we have certainly come a long way and the pathway has now matured and is a special part of our College. In 2021 we will have 16 students on the pathway. The program provides a rigorous and engaging real life pathway for students to achieve their WACE and graduate work or tertiary study ready.

To come so far in a short time is testament to the staff involved. Teaching in the FLEXed space is not easy and requires a different mindset and the capacity to teach through a pastoral lens. It requires a generous spirit and acceptance that DOTT is often absorbed into working with students in a personalised way. Thank you Rod, Del, Warwick, Lynn, Mark C, Natasha, Leo and Terri for your commitment to the students in this program.
