Performing Arts

Our students are encouraged to develop creative skills, critical appreciation and knowledge of artistic techniques and technologies in dance, drama, music, visual arts and various combinations of these art forms.

Performing Arts

The Arts programme provides students with opportunities to develop a sense of personal and cultural identity and equip them for life-long involvement in and appreciation of the arts.

The Performance Arts offer is broad and rich, providing students with numerous opportunities to participate in a range of co-curricular activities throughout the year.

Since 2008 the College has enjoyed the use of a new ‘state of the art’ Performing Arts Centre. Our facilities include an industry-standard recording studio, 300-seat theatre which includes green rooms and a costume room, Music Technology Mac Lab and purpose-built control room, a dedicated dance studio, as well as classrooms and rehearsal spaces fitted out with a range of instruments to support student learning.

Music Co-Curricular

In the Music Department there are a wide variety of different music ensembles to join. Students who select Prendiville Specialised Music are required to attend at least two ensembles as part of their commitment to the program. Students will have a number of performing opportunities, ranging from school concerts, performing at Catholic Performing Arts Festival and tours interstate and abroad. Our most recent tour saw our College Choir and Concert Winds band travel to Sydney in 2024 and perform on the stage at the Sydney Opera House.

Music Ensemble Offers:

We are delighted to offer the following range of ensembles at Prendiville Catholic College. Students may join the ensemble best suited to their skill level. Students who do not learn an instrument through the College are also very welcome to join these ensembles.

A calendar of performance dates will be available at the beginning of each term on the Music Portal in SEQTA. Students are expected to attend all performances for the ensembles in which they participate, so it is important that these dates are noted early.
