Year 9 Photography introduces photography to those who have not yet experienced this medium. Students will predominantly use point and shoot cameras but will have access to a wide variety of equipment including DSLR cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting, and image manipulation software using Adobe Photoshop. Students will learn about the technical aspects of photography including framing, shot composition, codes and conventions and will have opportunities to explore local places of interest to culminate their learning. Students will be involved in practical projects that involve producing photographs that express their creativity; including close up macro photography, exploring shutter speed and pet photography.

Please note: Students may be asked to use their own digital cameras with parental permission. Students are not, however, expected to purchase extra equipment other than their own SD memory card. School cameras are available for the students to use in class time.
