In this unit students will focus on creating fashion and choosing fabrics for fashion. Students will develop their clothing construction skills, the ability to interpret and follow commercial patterns and develop their individual creative clothing construction skills. This course will also introduce students to fashion styling and creating iconic stylistic looks.

Course Requirements

  • Students will need to purchase fabrics and some sewing equipment to make approximately 4 items over the year.
  • Students will need to be able to use a sewing machine.
  • Students will need to bring a box of dressmaker’s pins, pens and coloured pencils.
  • Students will need to complete 4 assignments and written tests over the year.

Safety Requirements:  Students will need to work safely when using sewing machines, irons, scissors etc and follow all classroom rules.
