The Year 10 Mathematics programme is based on the content in the Australian Mathematics Curriculum. Students will be assigned to one of four courses dependent upon their Year 9 result.
The Advanced course concentrates on the development of strong algebraic concepts providing the necessary skills and knowledge for a student to study Mathematics Specialist and the Mathematics Methods courses in Year 11.
The Intermediate A is a pathway to Mathematics Applications whilst also providing the necessary background to prepare those students with a high level of achievement to undertake Mathematics Methods.
The Intermediate B course covers the broader fundamental concepts of the Australian Curriculum syllabus heading towards Mathematics Essential on the General pathway. Students who achieve at a high level in the Intermediate B course will be eligible to study Mathematics Applications on the ATAR pathway.
The Foundation course provides students with relevant preparation for everyday life situations in which mathematics is required. It is also intended for those students who wish to study Mathematics Essential in Year 11.
