The Fashion Design and Textiles course is for students who enjoyed Fashion and Design in Year 9 or are absolute beginners in this area. The course will allow students to express themselves through fashion design and garment production. The focus of this course will be developing knowledge of fashion design, sewing equipment and skills as well as different textiles and their uses. Students will explore the design process and learn to solve design problems. While students will focus on acquiring and developing basic hand and machining skills, emphasis is also on theory and students will be required to undertake written research assignments. In addition, they will have the opportunity to demonstrate and show case their creative skills in participating in Catholic Education Carnevale.
