A Year 10 visit to The Francis Burt Law Centre
Is there a better way for Year 10 Politics and Law students to learn than by immersing themselves in practical matters. Well a visit to The Francis Burt Law Centre gave our students the chance to experience a mock trial, watch a real life sentence hearing and soak up the atmosphere of the historical hub of The W.A. Justice system. Their mock hearing took the form of a one punch attack scenario, a particularly relevant issue. And get this .... they each told the Truth and nothing but the Truth !! Thanks Miss McCarthy, Mrs Relo-Fisher and Mr O'Connor for your inspirational input.

aCross the World - Our Lady of the Missions Primary School, Scotland
Our Lady of the Missions Primary School in East Renfrewshire, Scotland were delighted to receive a glass cross from the aCross the World project recently which was delivered by Sister Mary Frances. Head Teacher Josephine McGrotty emailed the school's thanks with the following message: 'Your aspiration to be spiritually connected with our school community is commendable and in receiving your Cross, you have inspired my staff and pupils to celebrate your optimism and joy for the future of all our young people. Sister Mary Frances has suggested ways in which we can keep the momentum going and we intend that our P7 pupils will make crosses for the P4 pupils who are celebrating the Sacraments of First Confession and First Communion early next year. In this way we hope to carry your message forward. On behalf of my school community I thank you for thinking of us and we will keep you and your school in our prayers.'

Year 10 Surf Science Camp
A highlight of the Surf Science program each year is the Year 10 end of year safari. This year Gracetown is their destination of choice. After a fun filled bus trip, the students stopped off at Busselton to deliver a large fused cross from the aCross the World project to former Prendiville Deputy Principal, Chris Wallace, who is now the Principal of MacKillop Catholic College. The hype was real on the Surf Science bus when the “Gracetown 300m” sign was spotted. After dropping off bags, it was into Coles in Margaret River for a coming-of-age experience. Shopping for the family on a budget was truly a task and a half. But with the help of the teachers and coaches, nothing was impossible. Finally, it was time to head out and froth! Using some local knowledge, the Margaret River Mouth AKA “The River Dog” was decided upon. With challenging onshore conditions and sizeable waves, they eventually wrapped their heads around positioning in the line-up and no wave was safe in the arms of the Year 10 Surf Science shreddas!! When it comes to students "jumping out of their skins" to take on new challenges our students are not shy. Our Hero shot captures our latest adventurers. From the left, Amy Groenewegen (Y11), Storme Williams (Y11), Brittany Fitzgerald (Y11), Tessa Piovesan (Y10) and Alicia Politi (Y10) who are currently in Italy, living with families and having experiences beyond their wildest dreams. All five are scattered to all corners of the boot shaped country as part of the unique Western Australian Association of Teachers of Italian program. It's an indictment on our faculty, here at Prendiville, that of the over 50 students, statewide, involved in the program, nearly 10% are from our college. A big tick we say Mrs O'Donnell. And before we sign off, Tessa, living in the northern city of Forli has sent us a couple of postcard images ... thanks Tessa ... you look like you are getting ready for a new Christmas experience in 2016.
